Great Place to surf - Phil Jones - 18/09/08 |
Last visited Manorbier in Summer of '84 for the British Surfing Championships (transferred from Freswater West due to storm conditions). Sept '08 and this is still as beautiful a place as i remember it with fantastic scenery, beautiful sea scapes, but sadly, on this occasion, few fossils. A couple of crinoid stems found but little else. This is the sort of location where finds are secondary, as the place itself more than makes up for lack of fossils. Well worth a visit and maybe you'll be luckier than me in the finds department. For the record, I didn't win the British Surfing Champs in '84 either. |
